The Bahama 42 is not what you call conservative, this boat really impresses when it enters the harbor. The design is neither extreme nor flamboyant, it is the little details that make it so. You can't quite put your finger on it, but you know you're looking at something special.
This particular Skorgenes Bahama 42 was built "custom-build" for the current owner and differs from what we deliver as standard, particularly in terms of engineering. This is quite unique in the polyester (fiberglass) yacht building industry, but with us it is possible! The owner did not want a very fast yacht but one that does have the looks.
This Skorgenes Bahama 42 is equipped with two economical and very quiet (61DbA at full throttle!) 110HP Yanmar engines. This gives the boat the sailing characteristics of a "displacer", reaching speeds of between 16 and 19 km, depending on the circumstances. But, it is primarily a cruiser, especially given the peace and quiet on board. Moreover, this ship allows excellent maneuvering, even without a stern thruster. Compared to other polyester twin screw boats, this Bahama 42 is a pleasure to maneuver.
Furthermore, this Bahama 42 is equipped with a very modern and bright interior, spacious and equipped with many comfortable amenities, including: A spacious kitchen, divided into 2 areas, 1 of which is directly behind the fully opening façade to the aft deck, with one of the refrigerators directly at the guests' fingertips on the aft deck. An aft deck, by the way, equipped with an open-roof for those who still want to enjoy the sun. In the longitudinal part of the kitchen you will find the double sinks, stove, pop-on HD TV and under the steering bench a spacious 2nd refrigerator that can also freeze. All cabinets and drawers have soft-close closures and solid hinges, some closets also with LED lights. Sitting side by side on the steering bench, you can also enjoy the sun through the huge electric sunroof!
The seating area offers comfort and a good view and has an additional "relax" fateuill with adjustable backrest. Naturally, the ship is equipped with a central vacuum system.
The bow offers an owner's cabin with queen-size bed, completely free-standing, closet space galore and a bathroom en-suite. There is a guest cabin with another large double bed and an electrically adjustable relax bed. Here also plenty of storage and closet space, reading lights with USB-C connection etc. Naturally there is a second spacious bathroom with separate shower and washing machine/dryer. The entire ship is equipped with LED light strips, spotlights etc, dimmable or not.
This Skorgenes Bahama 42 is finished in light oak (lots of solid and craft), oak floor inside, teak in the cockpit, and swim platform. The latter features an outdoor shower and stairs on the BB side to the BB gunwale. In short, this boat is a must see!
During the construction of this ship unfortunately one of the owners (a married couple) had a major health problem, which makes staying on this ship in the near future very difficult, if not impossible, so that they are forced to sell the ship without being able to enjoy it.
